The believers studied what the apostles taught. They shared life together. They broke bread and ate together. And they prayed. Everyone felt that God was near. The apostles did many wonders and miraculous signs. All the believers were together. They shared everything they had. They sold what they owned. They gave each other everything they needed. Every day they met together in the temple courtyard. In their homes they broke bread and ate together. Their hearts were glad and honest and true. They praised God. They were respected by all the people. Every day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47
Growing in loving God and others takes time...a lifetime. There are no quick fixes. Learning to follow Jesus and grow in a relationship with Him is "discipleship". Disciples are followers of Jesus who over the course of a lifetime increasingly submit every area of our lives to the lordship of Jesus.
When we look back at the early church, followers of Christ were meeting together regularly in homes, churches, town centers, and other places in the community. While many of us live busy lives, the same should still be true for us today. At Onelife, we seek to do this through Growth Groups, Community Groups, and Missional Families. It is our belief that each of these groups play a key role in reaching and leading people to follow Jesus in everyday life.
